The Romantic Rhine

This was a very innovative event hosted by Gaby Schroeder of Schroeder Events. A company event inviting their guests to travel back in time to the Middle Ages.

Fortress Rheinfels on the Rhine River was the perfect setting, being Germany’s oldest castle and offering a magical ambience.  Guests were fitted for costumes and sent back onto the courtyards with their new identities. One man became a Cardinal in Red, women became gypsies, street women or witches. Some were lucky enough to be a Princess. They formed teams and played middle age games in the courtyard. The highlight was the Evening Show in the Cellar turned into a Knight’s Table Round. A jester made them laugh, Stefan the Fire-Eating Magician entertained them and then they were sent back through the Time Tunnel to the Turn of the Century, where they were welcomed by Visiona, A Symphony in Light and Color. They were mesmerized by the soothing music and illuminated dancing butterfly in the pitch dark room giving the illusion of a human-sized fluttering butterfly. The next day Visiona paid a visit to the castle grounds with onlookers naming her “The Loreley” and the “Castle Ghost” in her wings of white.
