The Halloween List RECAP

Becky’s Poem

Hostess Vicki, Bride of Frankenstein, welcoming the ghouls and ghosts with a German poem of her own

“Ghuls und Gespenster, gebet Acht Schaut mal herum, es ist Nacht       Es dunkelt und munkelt                     Der Sternhimmel funkelt”

After living in Germany for 17 years and missing Halloween, I finally decided to show our German friends how we Americans celebrate this ghoulish night and threw a party on Saturday, October 30, 2004.

To make sure they understood the roots and background of Halloween and to understand why they should come in costume, I sent a story about the History of Halloween in their Invitations. When I saw our group of 12 friends standing around the torch bonfire at the cobblestone Magic Circle, our Halloween meeting place, I was thrilled to see that they understood my letter!  What a compliment they gave me to come to my first Halloween Party in such great costumes! I felt so honored as if they were all bringing flowers to my high school prom.
