Visiona in the Mediterranean

Villefranche Sur Mer

Our last adventure ushered us to the deep underworld of a salt mine without a glimpse of daylight. This little spree on the other hand sailed us above sea level. That is, I fluttered my wings atop a floating stage in Villefranche Sur Mer near the city of Nice, France along the coast of the Mediterranean. Unlike the darkness of the mine, this rendeveous was sparkling with sunshine!

The occasion was an exclusive house-warming party for a renovated “palace” on Cape Ferrat. The guests were treated to a festive spectacle in the cove as highlight of the elegant affair presented by Visiona, A Symphony in Light and Color followed by the multi-colored dancing waterfountain spectacle shooting up its magnificent sprays of water to the music of Riverdance, followed by  Phoenix, a hypnotizing fireworks show which set the sky on fire.  Immediately following this spectacular frenzy on water, a paddle boat decked out with the illustrious star of the evening, “the floating dessert buffet” complete with Chef-Master Marian and his assistant on their throne of sweet temptations, sculptures of indulgence created with their own hands, romantically highlighted by burning candles a `la flaming torches and a human gold statue on the stern sailed slowly towards the guests on deck and cast anchor. A sight you would expect to see in a Las Vegas Casino, but not in the basin of Cape Ferrat on a mid-summmer’s night.

Without our good technician, Tommy we would have been sunk. In this case, literally.
