The flower garden was a Sea of candlelight as far as your eyes could see. Candles lined the driveway and continuing down the property to the Garden Tool House (giving the illusion of a Witch’s House by night) and the mini Pond illuminated with floating candles. Red German graveyard candles highlighted the Witch’s House while the delicate boney skeleton danced above the waters illuminated by the pond’s lighting. In the distance one could see the horizon of the Vosges Mountains as the sun went down, creating a vague layer of colors like a rainbow in the horizon. It was quite a breathtaking sight ! If there is such a thing as a  Fairytale Halloween scene; this was one for me !

The Garage with the Mummy Parlour surprise inside, was highlighted outside by the only RED lantern in the town of Badenweiler (thanks to Vicki climbing on top of the garage to mount red stage foil on the street lamp). This sight alone was quite a curiosity which drew many onlookers. Vicki’s jack-o-lantern is smiling at the base of the lantern. A Halloween prop of a “tree face” was mounted to the lamp pole with a movement sensor which shrieked a ghoulish cry into the night every time someone came near it. This just added to the scene with a special sound effect which made the whole thing really eerie.
